Notre Dame March....I mean Michigan State Marching Band

Here's a video of a portion of the Michigan State Marching Band playing the Notre Dame fight song. Not the best, but with practice, I can see them getting it down.
Michigan State Grump

It's been such a long time since I posted, it's been a busy fall. However, since I last left you, I was gearing up for the Michigan game. That was painful to say the least, but the week following, the wife I and made a visit to East Lansing for our traditional ND-State match-up. I'll tell you this, at one point, I told my Emily(State Alumni), "Our kids will never go to school here." Yeah, pretty rough stuff, but in the end things turned sour for the whole stadium, especially on the pressbox side where we sat. I was one of only a few ND fans that were in my section. Needless to say I got picked on the whole game. Well, after Lambert's final interception, I had a chance to get back at one State fan who was on me the whole game.

The rest of the season, I've been amazed at how unfair the media has treated this Irish team. The perception that ND was supposed to be the greatest at season start, was probably a little overdone. However, if you don't remember, a lot of Willingham and Davie players that the media likes to point out, have left this team. I could care less what people say in comparison to Weis and Willingham, the thing is Weis will probably take ND to it's second straight BCS game. He is currently 17-4, and this offense is better than Willingham would have ever made it if he was still head coach. The defense still needs some work, we all know that, but while the media likes to point out the failures in the secondary, they're still better than what they were last year. And, there are other teams in the top 10 who have defenses that are suspect as well. Today I had a chance to look at the computer rankings that the BCS uses. Last week ND had the 5 best computer average, but was 9th overall in the BCS standings. Why, well because it's a perception bias. Ranking the Irish as low as they have is simply crap, and they know it. The Michigan game was a fluke, and they know it. Notre Dame still has a chance to get into the NC picture, whether the media likes it or not. Teams keep losing, Louisville WILL lose next week to Rutgers, and Rutgers will lose to West Virginia. Now, Texas is looking at a rematch with Nebraska in the Big 12 championship, Florida has to face Steve Spurrier this weekend, and that looks to be a good matchup. Auburn faces a sliding Georgia team that will look to bounce back, and Cal still has USC. Don't worry about ND, they will win the next 3 games, trust me. So that leaves Michigan-Ohio State. Well, the best thing that can happen for us, is that Ohio State gets hammered by Michigan, and somehow we're 3rd when we play USC. Then, it's time for the game of the year for the Irish, they will have to prove that they are worthy enough to jump Ohio State and play Michigan for a rematch for the National Championship. That would piss off the media, and the rest of the nation.
